UDWI COVID-19 Plan Member Update April 2, 2020
Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency declared by federal and state authorities, attendance at the 2020 Annual Meeting of Members will include directors and limited staff. The UDWI membership will be able to participate in the director election by casting their votes either by mail or online.
As a reminder, UDWI has suspended customer appointments for new service connections. Once the Stay-at-Home order has been lifted, members will receive a call to reschedule their appointments. Also, the office lobby and drive-through window will remain closed to the public for the duration of this crisis. The drop-box is available 24 hours per day for payment submissions.
Effective April 6th, UDWI will significantly reduce its field operations. However, time sensitive and critical projects will continue. The revised plans are designed to limit employee exposure while maintaining system reliability.
The monthly Board of Directors meetings remain closed to the public and will be conducted via conference call. Agendas will be posted on the cooperative website.
UDWI’s goals during this national emergency are to maintain reliable electric service and keep our members and employees safe and healthy. Until this crisis ends, UDWI staff will continue to mindfully limit individual and group personal contact. UDWI is requesting that our members assist us in staying safe by taking the following steps:
- Please make bill payments electronically (via UDWI website, mobile app, or automated phone system), by postal mail, or the drop-box located under drive-thru awning.
- Please call our office with any questions you may have regarding your electric service. Most requests can be handled via telephone and/or email correspondence.
- Please cast your vote for the upcoming UDWI REMC Board of Directors Election online (which saves UDWI return postage costs), or by mail in the provided postage-paid envelope.
